Our Story

The 1865 Project Cigar is a unique collaboration of passion and labor between 1865 Ventures, LLC and Rocky Patel Premium Cigars.

1865 Ventures, LLC was established in 2022 as a way to celebrate the emancipation of African-Americans from slavery. In 2021, Juneteenth became a federal holiday and is now a day of reflection for the African-American community.

1865 Ventures, LLC is a minority-owned company whose goal is to produce a world-class cigar experience while also giving back to communities and people of color. We take pride in creating a cigar that will provide you with a premium smoking experience all while supporting diverse young adults in achieving their highest potential.

Rocky Patel Premium Cigars partnered with 1865 Ventures, LLC as a way to recognize and give back to a community that has supported his company’s cigars since its inception. Rocky Patel’s mission is to become an integral part of the effort celebrating the spirit of Juneteenth and advancing the principles of our Founders by addressing this issue at its most fundamental level: education. To achieve this mission, we have set up a comprehensive program that will provide scholarships and aid to black and other students of color who attend historically Black Colleges and Universities.
